12:54 am Reminders.
12:54 am
This is a reminder that you are allowed to feel everything you are feeling. You are allowed to indulge in the sweet syrup of happiness. You are allowed to break your heart open over mantle pieces. You are allowed to be a warrior of truth. You are allowed to be a carrier of secrets. But you are not allowed to dictate the lives of the innocent or scowl upon the lives of those you do not understand. Your feelings should not be felt at the expense of someone else's loss.
In a world where you are reminded constantly of the darker side of things, you are allowed to hope. You are allowed to hold onto the little things that make you happy as long as they do not harm another.
This is a reminder that the world does not get to choose what is to make you happy and what should not. If happiness to you is slow dancing at 12:54 with a lover made of dust, then that happiness is all yours. Do not confuse this with the vile sensations that claim the guise of happiness like the tepid serenity when you break the ones you love over nothing but hunger for more than they can give you.
This is a reminder that the human heart is made of tangible muscle, of thin veiled feelings and four chambers that only know how to give. If ever someone offers you a chamber to reside in, be mindful of your choices. This world works on gambles; you choose what you lose.
This is a reminder that the only validation you ever need is your own. There are billions of beings on this planet but they don't know you the way you do. They don't know the humming human within you. They don't know the dreams you build over loose ground with the marbles from your past to steady each wall. They have, what we call, the outside view. They see porcelain vases and pristine ceramic with hand-crafted handles and floral patterns; they see what you allow them to see.
This is a reminder that at 12:54am, the world is a quiet haze of night howlers and moonlight; it doesn't care if you're on the verge of giving up or holding on, it simply exists and so should you.
-N, 12:54am.
